Brazen in the Sun: Palm Springs' Clothing-Optional Gay Resorts

What's your nude attitude?
Maybe you're the adventure seeking, hands-on type. Or, perhaps, you're more into tanning than casual man-on-manning.
In either case, you are cordially invited to disrobe in Palm Springs, one of the last bastions of the naked gay getaway in the United States.
While the options in Provincetown and Key West have dwindled, our desert oasis continues to offer a lively variety of owner-operated accommodations where nudity and camaraderie will make your vacation a memorable experience.

Over 10% of Palm Springs Preferred Small Hotels' boutique properties are men's only clothing optional resorts. From El Mirasol Villas and The Hacienda at Warm Sands, where couples can sunbathe on private patios; to vivacious Vista Grande, where there's porn playing poolside; each has its own distinctive features and personality. You're sure to find the kind of stay that best suits your birthday suit.
Whether you're a sun worshipper looking to bronze your buns, unbothered; a connoisseur of al fresco friskiness; or you'd like the option to have it both ways (or even three ways!), there's a perfect place for you in our desert oasis.

Queries, Dearie?
When we encourage you to ask the front desk about "reservations," we're not just talking about rooms. Our queer hotel and resort managers want to help you plan an ideal vacation experience, and understand that if you've never stayed someplace where clothing is optional before, you're probably feeling both anticipation and a bit of anxiety.
Michael Green, a co-owner of the Triangle Inn, speaks on behalf of his fellow clothing-optional hosts when he says you should call ahead and inquire about whatever you want to know.
"Ask away! I doubt there's a question we haven't heard before, and we're happy to answer them all. We're gay, we're friendly, there's no need to be shy."

Among the questions managers are most accustomed to fielding on phone calls with potential guests are:
• What's the age range of the guys who stay there?
• Is your resort good for couples, or are you more for singles?
• You're clothing optional, but will I seem like a prude if I wear a bathing suit?
• Do you have secluded 'play' areas, or is it everything, everywhere, all at once?
But these proprietors remain unfazed even when much more particular questions are posed. Callers have wondered whether rooms had hooks on the ceilings for slings, whether they could invite guys they met at bars or on apps to their rooms, and whether it would be weird to work on their laptop while sitting outdoors in the nude.
"The other day," said Green, nonplussed, "I was asked if using toys was permitted on the pool deck."
Tap That Pass
Even if you're not staying at a men's only resort, you can get in on the action with a special day or night passes at two of the Springs' horniest resorts. Both Casa Oliver and the Canyon Club offer reasonably priced opportunities to drop by, skinny-dip, and socialize.
