Lady Gaga Wins an Emmy – Will a Tony Complete Her EGOT Some Day?

Lady Gaga claimed an Emmy for her pre-Super Bowl rendition of "Hold My Hand" earlier this year. The win puts her tantalizingly close to joining the elite ranks of EGOT holders – a status that "fewer than two dozen people have achieved," as Entertainment Weekly noted in a report.

Mother Monster "triumphed over 'Evolution of the Black Quarterback,' 'The Lionheart,' 'Noche UFC: For Mexico, For All Time' and 'The Turnaround'" for the statuette, which was handed out "in the outstanding music direction category," Variety detailed.

Her Emmy victory comes after she won an Oscar for the song "Shallow," which she contributed to the 2018 Bradley Cooper remake of "A Star Is Born," in which she and Cooper also starred. The "Born This Way" singer has also been showered with Grammys – 14 in all.

But for Gaga, the moment wasn't all about herself. She "used the moment to pay tribute to the 14 people who died during a Jan. 1 terrorist attack during New Year's celebrations on Bourbon Street," EW noted.

To complete her EGOT journey, the "Poker Face" chanteuse will need to win a Tony Award. Could Broadway beckon next?
