Watch: Ryan Gosling Rues Limp-Wristed 'La La Hand' Pose

When it comes to boo boos he wishes he could go back and fix, Ryan Gosling zeroed in on something most people probably didn't even notice: his limp wrist in the poster for the musical "La La Land."
True, as far as body language goes, the poster image – a still from the "A Lovely Night" dance number Gosling and costar Emma Stone did in the 2016 Damien Chazelle film – doesn't really scream "gay stereotype!" But Gosling, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal to promote his new film "The Fall Guy," pinpointed a moment in which he said his bent wrist "killed the energy" of the moment.
"I call it 'La La Hand,'" Gosling added.
The moment became an image forever linked to the film, which summons the old-time magic of the movies, when it was chosen for the film's poster – something Gosling didn't know was going to happen.
But it doesn't seem as though anyone but Gosling is going to hold the "lazy," as Gosling put it, wrist posture against him. Vulture declared that "Gosling's gay little wrist was a piece of representation that mattered," before cheekily suggesting some cinematic penance, joking, "there's only one way he can make it up to the queer community – star in Joel Kim Booster's next movie."
Gosling had other tidbits to share in the light-hearted interview, including his criteria for what makes a movie a must-do for him: "It shoots in LA, an I don't have to take my shirt off."
