'All of Us Strangers' Director Andrew Haigh to Helm New Leonardo da Vinci Film

A new flick focused on the life and discoveries of Leonardo da Vinci has found its director in out filmmaker Andrew Haigh, who recently gifted us with "All of Us Strangers."
As reported by Variety, Haigh will be adapting a da Vinci biography by Walter Isaacson that reveals new insights into the Renaissance man.
"The runaway bestseller connects da Vinci's transcendent art, which includes the Mona Lisa painting hanging in the Louvre, to his trailblazing science – and shows how his genius was driven by an insatiable curiosity, careful observation and a whimsical imagination," Variety reports.
Universal picked up the adaptation, marking the second adaptation of Isaacson's that is headed to the big screen. In 2011, the studio bought the rights to his "Steve Jobs" biography, with Danny Boyle in the director's chair.
An award-winning British writer-director, Haigh's "All of Us Strangers" received six BAFTA nominations, including best director and best adapted screenplay. The film also scored three Independent Spirit Awards nominations.
Gay audiences will also know Haigh as the lead writer-director on HBO's "Looking." Audiences will surely be looking to see how he interprets da Vinci's story.
