Gay Porn Star Sentenced to Nearly 6 Years in Prison for Extortion

Wednesday October 28, 2015

A gay porn star was sentenced to five years and 10 months in prison Tuesday after being convicted of extorting a multimillionaire businessman between 2013 and 2014, the L.A. Times reports.

Teofil Brank, who was known in the gay porn industry as Jarec Wentworth, was hit with a 70-month prison sentence and was ordered to pay about $500,000 in restitution to the victim, Donald Burns, according to a spokesman for the U.S. attorney's office in Los Angeles.

Brank, who was convicted in July, was found guilty by a Los Angeles jury of extorting an Audi sports car and $500,000 in cash from Burns by threatening to share with the public that he was hiring male escorts for sex. According to a sentencing memorandum filed by federal prosecutors and obtained by the L.A. Times, Brank met Burns, chairman of MagicJack VocalTech (a cheap Internet phone service), in 2013 in a "pay-for-sex encounter." Between 2013 and 2014, Burns paid the gay porn star $1,500 and $2,000 for sex about four times. The businessman also paid Brank to set up sexual encounters with other porn actors and escorts, according to prosecutors.

But Brank's relationship with Burns started to go south earlier this year when Burns "fired" the porn star. Brank sent a series of threatening texts to Burns, according to court documents.

"I can bring your house down....Lies can be made or maybe it's the truth," Brank texted. "I'm feeling evil right now."

"Money won't wash away what people will read and see of you. Wow I guess I hold the cards right now," he wrote in another message.

Burns testified at the trail and said he was "scared to the core" over Brank's threats, according to transcripts of the hearing, obtained by the L.A. Times.

In an attempt to end the threats and avoid humiliation, Burns wired Bran $500,000 and gave him his Audi R8, worth about $180,000, court documents claim. But that allegedly didn't stop Brank and he demanded $1 million, according to court papers. That's when Burns' attorneys contacted the FBI and set up a sting operation at a Starbucks in El Segundo, Calif.

An undercover agent gave Brank the title to the sports car inside the coffee shop but said the $1 million was in the trunk of his car. Federal agents the arrested Brank and found a loaded revolver in his car according to a sworn affidavit by a FBI agent.

Brank, who spent eight months in prison awaiting trial, continued to target Burns while he was locked up. The porn star falsely accused him of having sex with minors, according to prosecutors.

According to the very NSFW Al's Gay Porn Star directory, Brank started doing porn for Sean Cody, "where he became one of the most-filmed of their models." He also filmed scenes for Randy Blue before heading over to The website goes on to say Brank "had a reputation for being a bit of a prima donna on set. On his profile, he revealed that the worst thing about him was 'I can be very mean if you get on my bad side.'"
