EDGE Rewind: Former Disney Star Ross Lynch Turns Up the Heat with Shirtless Pics
EDGE is reaching into its archive and sharing some of our favorite stories from the past.
Ross Lynch is known for his work on Netflix's "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" and Disney's "Austin & Ally," but this week the actor and singer is turning heads for shirtless pics circulating on social media.
In 2017 Lynch did a 180-degree turn with his image when he starred in "My Friend Dahmer," a film that looked at infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer's teenage years.
The buff 27-year-old also has a prolific music career. Lynch was part of the music group R5 from
2009 to 2016 with his brothers Rocky, Riker, and Rydell, along with Ellington Ratliff. Then, the band changed personnel, trimming down to Ross and Rocky, and they changed the band's name to The Driver Era. On his own, Lynch released his first single "A Billion Hits" a decade ago, as well as singing all the songs for "Austin & Ally: Turn It Up," the show's second soundtrack. He also recorded songs for "Teen Beach Movie," the soundtrack of which was the fourth best-selling soundtrack of 2013 in the United States.
With The Driver Era, Lynch has released a number of singles as well as two full-length albums, "X," in 2019, and "Girlfriend" in 2021. This past June the duo released a new single, "Keep Moving Forward" featuring Nikka Costa, and "Malibu" on July 28. On August 4, The Driver Era announced their third studio album, titled "Summer Mixtape," which will be released on September 16, 2022.
Ross and Rocky are currently on the U.S. leg of "The Driver Era" tour, "and fans are going wild over Ross' choice of clothes - or, more to the point, the lack of," PopBuzz said. Check out some of the Twitter reactions below.
