Catch 'The Menopausal Mermaid' at Club Café

Thursday Jan 18, 2018

Ariel, everyone's darling from" The Little Mermaid," is not feeling it. Betrayed by Eric, cursed by Ursula, she is ready to kick ass and take names in "The Menopausal Mermaid, A Drag Parody Reimagined!," a 90-minute musical parody that picks up where the Disney fairytale left off. Tired of playing by the rules, Ariel is reinventing herself, and along the way she takes on love, fame, Walt Disney, and anyone and anything that's ever tried to keep a woman in her place.

The show, which runs on selected dates from January to March at Boston's Club Café, is a kaleidoscope of fantastic drag, sexy sailors, outrageous costumes, and all your favorite 80s disco tracks re-imagined and served up hot. Grab your bestie, throw on something cute, and get ready to rock the house with Ariel and her boys in this must-see theater event.

It is written and directed by Michael Gaucher, who is best-known as a member of the drag quartet Fresh Fruit. The production reunites him his Fresh Fruit cohorts Rodney Vanderwarker and Walther Hildner, who have designed the costumes. Todd Paul also assists on the costume design and set, and Vartan Aghababian is the musical director. The cast includes Blake Siskavich, Joshua Rubenstein, Brian Washburn and Paxton Crystal.

The production runs from January 11 to March 25 on select Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays at 8 pm and select Sunday matinees at 1 pm at Club Cafe's Moonshine Room 209 Columbus Ave, Boston, MA. For more information, visit the show's website.

Audience members will receive 20% off their FOOD bill so enjoy dinner or brunch. (Food and drinks are NOT included in ticket price.)
