Right Spanks Rush; Left Puts Him on the Couch
Left-wing pundits have put Rush Limbaugh on the proverbial couch, while fellow right-wing talk radio host Michael Savage has trained his sights on Limbaugh.
Salon.com featured a long list of Limbaugh's commentary concerning the posterior of human anatomy.
Chirped Salon, "It's too bad that Sigmund Freud's long dead, because Rush is the old shrink's dream patient, with an obvious diagnosis: Limbaugh has an anal fixation."
Among Salon's items are Limbaugh's not infrequent warning that various individuals are liable to die of "anal poisoning" from their proximity to various targets such as Hillary Clinton and President Obama.
In terms of Obama specifically, Limbaugh was quoted as having said, "We are being told that we have to hope [Obama] succeeds, that we have to bend over, grab the ankles, bend over forward, backward, whichever, because his father was black, because this is the first black president."
Salon larked, "Limbaugh's tuchis talk is so constant, it doesn't seem to be just the joking around of a clown. (Is it mere coincidence that he got out of serving in Vietnam because of an anal cyst?)"
Noted the article, "Anal rape jokes, in particular, are a running theme for Limbaugh. In fact, they're one of his favorite ways of describing acquiescence or obedience.
"Note the recurring racial theme," the article continued, going on to list anal-centric comments Limbaugh had made about David Dinkins, the Democratic party, and Jim Florio.
About the Democratic party, Limbuagh had groused, "Democrats will bend over, grab the ankles, and say, 'Have your way with me,' for 10 percent and 2 percent of the population?" for purportedly serving the interests of Black and gay Americans.
The article also noted that a favorites Limbaugh slur is call someone "butt boy," usually in relation to a more prominent politician.
For himself, Limbaugh is loathe to present too tempting a target: Salon quoted Limbaugh as saying, "I never bend over forward in public, especially in these times."
"I dropped something, is what the confusion is here and I--in--in New York City I never bend over forward. And--so--in public," Limbaugh reportedly said in a separate, typically eloquent quotation. "So I needed somebody to come pick it up for me."
A third Limbaugh quote read, "I seldom bend over forward in public, for obvious reasons."
Vetting of candidates for high-level positions in government are, in Limbaugh parlance, subjected to "rectal exams," and an allegation of anal rape provided material for on show's on-air laff riot, Salon reported.
Meantime, Limbaugh evidently views women as the proper objects of his own close attentions: "I love the women's movement," the site quoted Limbaugh as saying.
"Especially when I'm walking behind it."
From quarters other than the hind-variety, Limbaugh has come in for some trash talk of late.
Jason Links at The Huffington Post noted in a May 22 item that following his inclusion on a list of individuals barred from entering the UK by that nation's Home Secretary, right-wing shock jock Michael Savage tore into Limbaugh for failing to join the chorus of voices that rose in Savage's defense.
"Oh noes!" cried Links, going on to quote Savage's... well... savaging of Limbaugh: "Limbaugh has turned out to be the biggest phony of all of them, all of them. Amongst all of them, he is the biggest fraud."
For those who had not quite got his meaning, Savage re-iterated, "Rush Limbaugh is a fraud."
Savage explained his sentiments, saying, "When he was accused of the drug usage, I supported him. But that man is a one-way street. It's all about him.
"He's in it for nobody but himself," Savage added.
Links jumped to Limbaugh's defense, writing, "I find it hard to believe that Savage actually wanted to go to England. I mean, wouldn't all the socialized heath care anger him? Wouldn't he be revolted at the thought of 'bangers and mash,' which Savage would inevitably misconstrue?
"Anyway, I'm guessing it was news to Limbaugh that Savage actually wanted to piss off to dear old Blighty, but there you have it."
Limbaugh also came in for a drubbing at the hands of Great Communicator offspring Ron Reagan Jr., whose Rush-tastic diatribe was posted as part of a May 22 article at The Stranger.
Following a slam Limbaugh made against Nancy Pelosi, saying that portraits of the Speaker of the House posted "in every cheap hotel room in America" would lead to fewer pregnancies, Reagan blew his stack:
"Limbaugh hasn't had a natural erection since the Nixon Administration; think he's compensating for something?" The Stranger quoted him as saying.
"Now, I wouldn't pick on him for any of this stuff, not his blubbiness, not his man-boobs, not his inability to have a natural erection," Reagen went on, "none of that stuff-to me, off limits until! until! Mr. Limbaugh, you turn that sort of gun on somebody else-once you start doing that, you're fair game, fat boy. Absolutely, you jiggly pile of mess. You're just fair game, and you're going to get it, too."
One at a time, lads. Give him a minute.
